What sort of things do you have to do in a Catholic school?

Like what sort of prayers and stuff do you do? im a protestant but writing a book set in a Catholic school. Where i live there are a couple of catholic schools and i believe for girls there are nuns as teachers and my boyfriend is catholic so i suppose i could ask him, but i really wish to keep religion out of the relationship because being from Northern Ireland there are so many differences and stuff. Anyways it would be helpful if anyone could answer? Im looking for in particular Irish Catholic school practice. thanks
